Join me for a two-day, in-person dollmaking workshop - a creative deep dive for those who love working with their hands and enjoy a rewarding challenge.
This workshop is ideal for seasoned dollmakers looking to refine their techniques and add greater depth to their work, as well as for adventurous beginners with some hand-sewing experience (we’ll be using running and ladder stitches throughout the process).
With step-by-step guidance, you’ll create a Waldorf-inspired art doll (approximately 38 cm tall) using high-quality natural materials. You’ll sculpt an expressive, needle-felted face full of character, shape a smooth and well-proportioned body filled with soft wool, and finish your doll with a flowing hairstyle made from silky Teeswater locks.
Over the course of the workshop, you’ll develop both technical skills and creative insight -leaving not only with a finished doll, but with renewed inspiration and the confidence to keep exploring your own artistic path.
When and where:
The class will take place over two days - Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19th - from approximately 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
We’ll gather in the beautiful studio at Kamrin’s Craft Cottage - a warm, welcoming space filled with charm and creative energy. In addition to our time together in class, you’ll have the chance to explore the cottage’s thoughtfully curated collection of dollmaking materials, tools, and handmade goods - everything you might need to nourish your creativity and spark fresh inspiration. It’s the kind of place where ideas begin to bloom the moment you step inside.
What's the price and what's included:
The full price for this workshop is €490.
A non-refundable deposit of €70 (equivalent to approximately $82 USD) is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance will be due on the first day of the workshop.
The workshop fee includes lunch on both days, a doll patterrn with a photo tutorial, and all materials needed to create a doll, except for the Teeswater locks and matching mohair yarn for hair. You’re welcome to bring your own (message me for the details), or purchase a curated hair kit from Kamrin (info@kamrinspoppen.nl), who is currently preparing a beautiful selection of lock-and-yarn combinations especially for this class. These kits will be available for sale by late summer.
Since there won’t be enough time to complete the wig during our in-person weekend, we’ll begin our journey with an online Zoom session in mid-September. During this Zoom class, I’ll guide you through creating your own weft using Teeswater locks and show you how to crochet a wig cap for your doll - so you’ll have a wig ready to bring with you in October.
While we won’t have time to make clothes during the workshop, as a special bonus, you’ll receive a PDF pattern for a surprise doll outfit in September - just in time to make something lovely for your little woolly baby ahead of the workshop.
Can't wait to meet you in October! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at petitgosset@gmail.com.
